It is hard for me to believe conspiracies. It would mean at least one political party and select news media are part of some vast conspiracy to use pandemic response and climate mitigation as an excuse to squeeze the population. Then the secret is so absolute that there are no major whistleblower events or evidence of other political interests in countries worldwide spilling the beans.

If the game is so rigged towards some movie like climax event, then the cosmos must be complicit. That would at least be evidence we live in a simulation, possibly one created by our own immortal self. I would rather just believe the world is just messy and enjoy our sports and tv and video games as a way to spend our precious time.

As for electric semi trucks, I would like the fuel efficiency to save me lots of money that I could spend if I ever needed to become a societal collapse prepper.

Back during Harley's 100th I was living not to far from Harley in Milwaukee. It was a heck of a time. My friends and I were drinking with some bikers on an afternoon. A bunch a bikes roared by and one of my friends said something like "listen to that power!!!". The biker responded -" that engine is loud, but not necessarily powerful or fast" and then proceeded to give a dissertation about how harley has a line of cheap, low horsepower, low tourqe engines that they made loud as heck.

In other words - I don't care what it looks or sounds like. I care about getting across the line first.

I remember there was a time when Agenda 21 was, "conspiracy theory". Now the cat's out of the bag and it's common knowledge. You should check out Rosa Kieori's book, "Behind The Green Mask".

Agenda 21 was a non binding resolution passed by the UN, but used by propagandists to spread fear about state and local government policies and bills. Here is the Wikipedia that explains the basis of the opposition to Agenda 21. It's basically just finding dystopia in everything that has to do with environmentalism and regulation. Bike lanes, hubs for public transportation, promoting resource and land conservation; all are part of some conspiracy to undermine freedom, even though they are proposed by local governments and non profits.

Again, this is a non binding resolution in the UN. Even binding treaties and resolutions have trouble getting implemented in member countries. Environmentalism always takes a back seat to the economy, unless it is profitable otherwise.

No, that’s a political statement, not a factual one.

    For example?

    The Clean air act
    Unleaded gasoline
    Clean water act
    Landfill regulations
Prohibition of DDT, among a long list of useful chemicals.
    vehicle CAFE standards

Closer to our world? Diesel particulate and NOX reduction regulation.

Each of those examples were / are hugely, sometimes insanely expensive.

No, environmental regulation most certainly don’t take a backseat to economics.

That was good except for the California part. California, despite having the most draconian enviro-meanie regulations, still manages to have cities with some of the worst air quality in the nation.

That has alot to do with geography really. Since they have the ocean to one side and mountains to the other. The air moves to the mountains. The particulates are heavier and get suspended in the air and have nowhere to go. Just reaffirms why that place sucks and should fall in the ocean along with its inhabitants.
