Why would a trucker invest in new GMRS equipment when there's no trucker traffic on the band?

Exactly what I did was buy one of them cheap Baofeng UV+Plus from Amazon , I think It was $26 and it will monitor the 462 through 467 MHZ frequencies, but I haven't heard any GMRS here in central Tx, not even sure if there is a repeater close by..

I got to thinking, vhf/uhf analog here has gone to the wayside it's all DMR, maybe that's why I'm not hearing gmrs if it's digital.

Remember, to get the most out of GMRS it's all about the ANTENNA SYSTEM!!!
Here's an example of a nice Collinear that does NOT require a ground https://www.theantennafarm.com/catalog/larsen-nmo450chw-833 … Remember, you will need a mount that accepts antennas with an NMO connector. Consult with the antenna vendor about your installation requirements.
This antenna will work good on Metal Mirror Brackets Midland MXTA26 6db Gain Antenna .. Again, it has an NMO connector at the base of the antenna..

Narrow FM is now allowed on CB Radio. The CB Radio Service is License by Rule; therefore, no license application or fee is needed. GMRS has been sold as "Better Sounding" than CB. Will license free FM on CB make GMRS less attractive?
