In 2018 the government offered homeowners 80% cash back on solar installations. We had some put in, cost us about $1,100 after the rebate.

I had to laugh at people in California. They showed some homes that put the panels on the street side of roof, even though the back side would be a better location for exposure to the sun. Seems they’re more concerned with others knowing they’re energy conscience, than actually saving electricity. I see a lot of solar panels on newer homes in Louisiana. They pay a finance fee structured as a lease for the equipment, maybe 20 yrs. or so. The fee is less than the savings on electricity. I guess it’s good. I don’t really know anyone that has it. But something tells Me the Leasing Company is the one making the big money, off tax incentives, while selling the Leases off to investors.
