No no no no.....Not the bracket to frame...Think of the cab as 4 walls connected with super glue..The only way to get a connection is with wide braided ground straps..Gotta do it in small steps not just one long one,the ant will see that as a longer half of itself and throw off tune and even if tuned in,it will be a false tune..
If cab is not bonded then its nkt gonna work as well as if it was..
Connect engine and chassie both sides..connect floor to wall wall to door and as jd said connect top part of cab shock mount to bottom part of shock mount..
Think of it like this..
Fingers dont work till connected with hand....Had dont work till connected with wrist, wrist to forearm,to elbow ect ect..Gotta do same with a trk nowa days..Not everything is connect via welds n bolts...Lotsa plastic bushing, washers, glues n such..

Dipole has counterpoise does it not?
-
According to k0bg, counterpoise is a bit of a misnomer regarding mobile installs.

Grounds, RF & DC

Nope, it only exists in fix base operations.

Best thing to do here is run the coax through the mirror bracket on the driver side
you may have to remove the air cleaner(easy job)and the lower mirror bracket where it connects to the cab to get the coax through.
You will save your self a lot of trouble
You may have to cut the pl259 off thew end you feed through and have a new one put on, but this is the best way to get away from those junk BOC mounts -
If you're not to keen on soldering PL-259's (if not done right, another can of worms will be opened!) you can try something like this..........
12 Foot Length Heavy Duty CB Coax Cable w. Removeable PL259 Connector 128XN13
While it's not the best coax, it's better than the stock junk and is available in most truck stops or online. Just keep the removable end indoors. If you decide to reattach the PL-259 yourself keeping the length around 14-15 feet is actually a little better than 18 feet! This is not super critical if your antenna is in good shape at the feedpoint.

Amtennas and Coax
YMMV
