Where do you get the screws (bolts) that fit the threads of the back of the TV ? Are they a universal thread or size ?

    BigTizle Thanks this.

Hello, I just discovered this very informative site, as I’m about to start my new CDL Class A career. This is a big change from my career of the past 20 years which is a video producer … I know your post was a year and a half ago, but I would like to know how it worked out? As part of purchasing all the things I might need to make the downtime better, I did the same. I purchased a 32 inch 4K TV. I noticed the first reply that you received, and I hope that the people on this site answer the actual question not just their personal opinion! Also, that opinion is not correct or accurate. Although there is no 4K OTA programming at this point because of the amount of data it would use to broadcast, it’s still not current technology. With all of that being said, and since television compression and what not it’s something that I’m very familiar with I wanted to chime in. First, Technology is changing by the month on every broadcast platform. I do not watch OTA programming, because I pay for my choice of provider which happens to be YouTubeTV. YouTube TV has programming that goes all the way up to 4K (they use a new compression that uses about as much data as HD 1080p). Not only did YouTubeTV not exist a year and a half ago but there were NO platforms including DIRECTV etc. that was broadcasting in 4K over “ a phone data stream” Where as there is plenty of programming that can be watched in 4K in different ways. Like I said some of the pay services like YouTube TV and others offer 4K. I have two cell phones that offer unlimited talk text and data, so none of that is an issue. In reality they will slow you down at least in my case at about 500GB between the two phones, not a big deal. Since I have not been assigned my truck yet, I have not had the opportunity to see how much space is available where the mount is, between the factory microwave and factory installed refrigerator. So I would just like to know if and how good it worked out for you? Thank you in advance and see you out on the road! (FYI: the rig is 2021 or 2022 Freightliner Cascadia).

UPDATE: Samsung makes a great smart monitor 24”, 27”and 32”. All have Airplay 2. I highly recommend the Apple HDMI adapter to mirror your phone, iPad, whatever. Key words smart monitor - not TV.

Also a Ram mount is the only way to go. D size ball. It’s comically big, but holds beautifully. If you want crazy big go “E” size ball. It was designed for tanks and armored vehicles so I think it would work in a big rig.

Mine were M4. Length will depend on how thick your mounting plate is.

In my experience, the bigger a tv is the more weight bouncing down the road the more likely it is to break the back of the tv. I currently have a 24” 1080 Visio and all I ever do is the channel search, flip through some channels and then turn it off. TV is a waste of time.
