This happened few minutes ago at the Pilot in Memphis,Indiana off of I-65. Driver was literally right behind me leaving the Pilot while I was swinging around to get on the scale when he dropped his trailer! My guess is either the locking jaws on the 5th wheel failed or someone probably pulled his release! Either way the sheriffs department isn’t too happy right now and that driver’s company even less so when they get the wrecker bill-that’s a 60 ton rotator trying to get the trailer up-it partially slid into the ditch!

Someone with an axe to grind must have pulled the pin. A good rule of thumb..... always set your trailer brakes first...then pull against the pin and set your tractor brakes. That way it has so much pressure on it some turd can't pull the pin. Lots of jerks out there. Gotta take measures.

Looks like Mr P. Fortunately, he was still in the parking lot. Would have been a whole nother can of worms had he made it to the street. Luckey guy.
