Oh yeah. I love me some of those videos and since my father-in-law is in the Commemorative Airforce i’ve been lucky enough to be around a couple. BUT! They STILL are not in my garage. Lol!

I’m not sure if it’s ever been done (Australia maybe?) How about a Cummins QSX19 in a class 8 truck?

Probably not in a regular on-highway truck but I think they put those in off-road big-big trucks like prime mover size stuff. Probably the radiator size would be an issue with normal sized truck engine bays. I think some guys have swapped Cat C18s into glider frames though. I think it's physically the same size engine as a C15/16 just bored and stroked.

This same place showed me a generator powered by a 740 hp Detroit 14 litre. 740 hp from factory.

I just found a YouTube video of a road train Kenworth with a QSK 19. Advertised at 605hp and only 2000 lb torque. Must be derated.
C-18 engines are basically identical to truck C-15 engines on the outside. You can put truck accessories on a C-18 and if you’re non the wiser….. you have to pull the head or oil pan to identify it as a C-18.
C-18 use the same block and head as a C-15…the connecting rods are the same as an ACERT truck engine (as well as rod bearings). The crank, pistons and liners are the only major components exclusive to the C-18.

I'm a 60 Series fanboy. My first job from high school was the local Freightliner dealer. Lot's of knowledge earned those first years. 26 years later I decide to get into trucking. Not sure if everyone has been passed by my old Volvo, but we're putting 500+ to the ground with a wore out 11.1, so we'll see ya in the rear view at some point.
