If fuel was cheap a CAT 3408 at 800 hp. If fuel is expensive then just a regular x15 efficiency.

If I owned one, I’d try the 5.9 12 valve mechanical cummins with two turbos.

 

Any engine is only as good as it’s mechanic and it’s driver. Run what you know your better off.

I like a 3406B I get 5 some days pulling a cow wagon 4 others depends. Hooked to a hopper I can break 6. I will say the E and C15 is a better platform.

If I could have anything I wanted...3408 DI set up by my Dad.

I agree run what you are familiar with. I like the Detroit I'm running now but am a LOT more familiar and comfortable with the C15 that I had for the 10 years before that. If not for a stupid government mandate I'd still be driving that CAT.

 

If money was no option it'd be an E-9 with quad turbos pushing 2000+hp

 

Dads are the greatest huh? My Dad has a 1984 Pete with a 3408 and I just remember marveling at it as a kid especially since I was born in 84.
