Dream engine in a class 8 truck?
If I owned one, I’d try the 5.9 12 valve mechanical cummins with two turbos.Another Canadian driver and RockinChair Thank this. -
Any engine is only as good as it’s mechanic and it’s driver. Run what you know your better off.
I like a 3406B I get 5 some days pulling a cow wagon 4 others depends. Hooked to a hopper I can break 6. I will say the E and C15 is a better platform.
If I could have anything I wanted...3408 DI set up by my Dad.Another Canadian driver, jamespmack, Diesel Dave and 6 others Thank this. -

I agree run what you are familiar with. I like the Detroit I'm running now but am a LOT more familiar and comfortable with the C15 that I had for the 10 years before that. If not for a stupid government mandate I'd still be driving that CAT.
Another Canadian driver and wore out Thank this. -
If money was no option it'd be an E-9 with quad turbos pushing 2000+hp
Another Canadian driver Thanks this. -

If I had to pick something that's in production, it would be a compound turbo C18 with defeated EGR and DPF.
Another Canadian driver, Bean Jr. and snowman1980 Thank this.
