The thing about the C18 is they are their own worst enemy. Due to the size of the bore and the long stroke which causes a lot of side thrust as the rod makes it circle around the bottom they are really bad to crack liners right at the lower top ORing groove. Most are getting less than a 100k Miles on a 50 thousand dollar overhaul when put in a truck application. The C-15 Acert will produce as much power only more dependable.

I wondered about that knowing it's just a bored and stroked out C15/16. That's nice but eventually the cylinder walls get too thin for maximum longevity. No free lunches.

For a big bore inline-6 I'd say the old KTA19 is the top of the heap.

The KT is a powerhouse, but I remember the old saying “If you gotta K your gonna pay” they get a few hours on them and it gets expensive quick.

Not saying a 3408 isn’t riddled with its problems as well. It all comes back to the bigger they are harder they fall lmao

    Inline 6
    Camless
    High pressure common rail
    Front geartrain
    Vgt turbo/ centrifugal supercharger setup

Should be able to hit current emission standards with no or very little aftertreatment.

I want a radial engine from a b24 lots of power. Yes I want to keep the turbosupercharger for crossing Colorado.

I was also thinking about taking a C13 and adding an overhead cam and two extra cylinders to make a straight-8.

Or a 3408E with overhead cams and variable vane turbo.
