I have a friend that is part of a leasing company. He has contacted me about getting his cars moved. He moves about 10 a month but has a larger lease coming up. I have shown some interest in moving fright myself but would not be set up to move this larger lease. He is wanting to give this to me and let me move it however I can. Would I be able to post these loads on load boards or would I need the required licensing that I have been reading about. Thank you for your help.

No you have to be a broker.

Or, he can pay you to sift through the people and handle whatever part of it, but they would have to work directly for him.

Or, if you can find other work and you can handle doing it you can lease people on under your authority.

You definitely need your own authority as @Dino soar mentioned.

So I will either need to go through the process of becoming a broker and getting my broker license or I need to set up my own authority and have someone drive under me?

Call the load boards. They have accounts for shippers. Your role can be that of agent for your friend. You don't need any licenses to move your own freight.
