Great ideas.
Some brokers don't use direct deposit to pay.
One broker told me to wait a couple more days. I know the broker. I always did get paid on time. So, I know it's USPS that lost it somewhere. I emailed another broker today. I'm waiting for their response, hopefully tomorrow.
But hopefully, I will get it tomorrow-- still hopeful

3% that I pay a company to factor is worth every penny reading this thread. The free credit checks is why I signed up in the first place. But sitting around for 30+ days for a payment and playing phone tag with A/P personnel sucks.
JolliRoger, nikmirbre and Big Road Skateboard Thank this. -
With all due respect, you posted a link to a Bill in Congress and a Bill is not a Law. That Bill looks like it died in committee.
Sorry, I’m too lazy to dust off my copy of “Commercial Paper” to get you the current status.JolliRoger, Pamela1990 and ProfessionalNoticer Thank this. -
Asking for the check number instead might save you some aggravation.Pamela1990 and BennysPennys Thank this.

For years now, I have only deposited cheques via pictures of it.

This is why this is a great Idea to ask them to send a pic of the check (front and back)- It is called Truncating a Check when you deposit the picture of it to your bank.
Truncating Bank Law and Legal Definition:
According to 12 CFR 229.2 [Title 12 -- Banks And Banking; Chapter Ii -- Federal Reserve System; Subchapter A -- Board Of Governors Of The Federal Reserve System; Part 229 -- Availability Of Funds And Collection Of Checks (Regulation Cc); Subpart A – General] truncating bank means –
“(1) The bank that truncates the original check; or
(2) If a person other than a bank truncates the original check, the first bank that transfers, presents, or returns, in lieu of such original check, a substitute check or, by agreement with the recipient, information relating to the original check (including data taken from the MICR line of the original check or an electronic image of the original check), whether with or without the subsequent delivery of the original check.”D.Tibbitt, ProfessionalNoticer and God prefers Diesels Thank this. -
I'm also a part of the club that on day 30 calls the broker to inquire about pay. The vast majority of time it's in the mail. Unfortunately, the usps runs so slow it can take as long as 10 11 days to get a letter nowadays. So far after over a year in business I haven't been stiffed yet. Surprisingly the worst offender was JBHunt. I simply couldn't get ahold of anyone through their phone systems and nobody would respond to emails. After trying for weeks finally someone got on the line and figured out their system somehow "glitched" or atleast that's the line they fed me.
Beaver9, nikmirbre and God prefers Diesels Thank this.
