Out here on the west coast ... none of their drivers know where the switch is for their high / low beam headlights. High beams or no beams. I think their trucks stall out below 40 mph ... because they run thru truck stops at mach Jesus. Speaking of Jesus, when those DOT boys pass out here on two lane, I think they just close their eyes and pray.

Hopefully their corporate culture doesn't turn you into a #### bag like all the drivers out here ...

 

Any DOT drivers want to take a minute and answer a few of my questions? I applied for a 6/4 job out of Jacksonville FL on their website. Got a call the next afternoon from Tessa saying my app looked “excellent” and would I want to have a Zoom interview on Friday. I agreed and had that yesterday. Seems like a very well run operation from the 3 department heads I interviewed with. The 6/4 out of Jacksonville was taken off the table because of the distance from the house to J’ville, I get that. Was offered a local position out of Miami. I won’t get into detail about what the job is, suffice to say it fits into everything I’m looking for. The only issue is the drive from the house to the job site. 55 miles driveway to driveway. The good thing about it is I’ll miss south Florida traffic both ways.

I was told I’d hear back within a week. My application/resume is spotless, in the last 15 years I’ve only had 2 jobs, been at my current employer 9 years, and want to get off the OTR circus. Any info would be appreciated. If any of you want to PM me that’s fine as well. Thanks, drive safe!

What were the scenario questions like?

 

Probably an "intergrity" interview. I've been through those. I gave the answers I thought they wanted to hear.
