Yes eating poppy seed will allow you to test positive to opium. But you have to eat pounds & pounds of them just to show up on any test.

People test positive to drugs because they actually use drugs. Now not trying to insinuate anything.... But if you seriously have to ask how long drugs are in the system throws up a bunch of red flags & allows me think "are you trying to skirt a drug test because you may fail?"

There is only one way to pass a drug test with negative results. And that is not to use drugs in the first place!

 

If your heavy marijuana can stay in your system for up to three months, mostly because THC is stored in your fat

Drink a quart of vinegar and take a box of ex-lax and this will clean all types of drugs from your system that you have taken in the last 4 hours before a drug test. (note to all of you non-drug users) this will not work but at least we can get some of our low life drug users cleaned out and off the road.

 

DOT drug screening tests for 5 things, and only 5 things.
1.Marijuana
2.Cocaine
3.Amphetamines (meth)
4.Opiates
5.Phencyclindine (PCP)

How long something stays in your system has many variables. Most of these drugs will leave you in 3 days. Weed is like 30 days unless you are a fatty then you might be looking at up to 60 days...maybe more if you are a heavy smoker.

Keep in mind companies are starting to do hair folicle testing now. You will test positive for any of these drugs for many months. It grows out in your hair and typically the labs tests the most recent 3 months of growth for drugs. If you have no hair and they use body hair which grows much slower the tests show up to a year back.

I am not passing this info along to help anyone spoof a drug test. I am just answering your question. I am not implying you are trying to get away with drug use either.

and for a little side note you in theory can test positive for opiates from poppy seeds, but due to the quantity of what would have to be eaten nobody will buy that excuse if you pop up for opiates. And sitting in a smoke filled room will not test you positive for weed. The contact high BS will not fly and its been proven even heavy second hand exposure is not enough to put you on the radar.

 

Are there some OTC cold remedies that will cause you to test positive, and therefore should be avoided?
