I would maybe just consider open carry unless in Chicago = seems far easier than concealed carry and just say you are from Texas (originally) and now you have a hard time "giving up your guns." Get a few quick loaders if you want if you need to seperate the ammo from the gun.

I've needed one after unloading one evening. There was a co-worker I didn't trust who parked his truck in the dark beside his rig, mine was next to it. As soon as I saw him I got on the phone and kept talking to my son being sure to mention the mans name. Before becomming a truck driver having a gun in my pickup saved my life and my baby daughters.

I'll have a gun till they find me dead from natural causes, then they can bury it with me:)

Iraqvet--"Another thing I would look into is,if you would get in trouble for shooting someone..I mean,if you are only aloud to travel with the gun for recreational purpose, what happens when you use it for self deffense?Yeah sure if you shot someone deffending yourself, you probably wouldnt have nothing happen in criminal court..But is the family gonna be able to sue you in civil court?Their first statement in court is gonna be "he was not aloud to carry for personnel defense, but thats what he did"

Who cares? If someone breaks into my truck the last thing I'm thinkin about is what a judge will have to say about it!

No one knows if they are gonna be able to shoot another perosn until they do..Same thing with aiming, remembering the safety, all that stuff..Just cause someone spent their whole life shooting at targets and animlas, dosnt mean they could shoot a person..Just cause someone takes a 3 day course to get their carry license, dosnt make them a highly trained marksmen...Lets say my dad was a driver and he was in his bunk..You show up and park a few spot down from him..A crackhead comes up to you wanting your money, you pull a gun out and miss and shoot my dad while he is in his truck, and he dies..Do you think a judge is gonna let you just pay a fine??You will go to jail!!Lets say you aim low,and he gets hit with a ricochet and dies, you are still gonna go to jail...Yes somtimes there are bad judges though..There was a driver who was looking at a map and rear ended a car a few towns over from me..That car rear ended two that were infront of him..Needless to say,the guy in the middle didnt survive..Now that driver had his wife, and kids living with him in the truck..He was right down the road from the interstate he was trying to find on the map..Needless to say,his wife could have been navigating..Well,he only ended up getting 80 days in jail and 3 years probabtion and license suspension. That judge has gotten alot of hatemail since then..Vehicle accidents are treated different then shooting accidents though..Needless to say,you would do more time then that guy..And what about driver on driver shootings?Drivers get into arguements on the cb,one says he has a gun,and the other says he does to..Now what, you got an old western shootout about to go down..And imagine how many of those would happen a day??...I wouldnt trust a bunch of random guys not to shoot me at a truckstop on accident, just because they wanna feel like cowboys..I mean if you are that scarred for your lives, maybe you should get a job at a factory or somthin..

You dont have to be scared for your life and it's not a question of "working in a safe factory or something" Its a question of being prepared if something was to happen. Let me ask you this. Are you covered by any type of insurance? And if so, why?

I'd rather keep my right to bear arms then my right to work in a factory. Many people feel the way you do. Don't worry if you are ever getting robbed and someone who feels the way I do is around, they will protect you.
