If you are approaching Atlanta from the North on I-75 SB, lanes 4 & 5, measured from the median will take you onto I-285 around the West side. Lanes 5 & 6, measured from the median will take you onto I-285 around the East side. The signs telling you this are only about 200 feet before you get to the split. YOU MUST TAKE I-285 around Atlanta or get fined.

Under no circumstances attempt to visit the Loves just north of Atlanta on I-175 at Exit 283. It could not be more crowded and small if it was located in NYC. There are other truck stops nearby. If you try to stop at the Loves at Exit 283 you will spend an hour trying to get out of there even if you don't try to park, get fuel, or even run in to use the bathroom.

    316 from Lawrenceville… daylight hours:

South on 85, there should be a backup from 316 to 285. On 285 west, there will be a backup at GA400. Be in the number 2 lane. Once you pass exit 12 (where the Petro, crackheads, hookers, ghetto supastar script club are located), there will probably be a big crash with a possible fatality in the right lane. You need to be in that lane to get on i20west. When you make that climb up the ramp to 20, you will notice that it’s a bottleneck…2 lanes into one and that lane exits. Don’t panic. Stay right and don’t worry about getting over til you top the hill.

    Luck in battle.

Ok idk who's saying it's good and all that but Atlanta sucks, the traffic can be anywhere from an hour at midnight to 6 hours at noon only been through there about 100 times

I don't know if I fully agree. Atlanta and Nashville give me the blues more than any other city if traffic is heavy. Most people will say Chicago, New York, and LA. I don't get annoyed with them because they are 3 out of top 5 largest cities, I think Houston and Phoenix round out that list, but those 2 don't big me either. I expect massive cities to have big traffic but Nashville isn't even a small fraction of the population of those cities, same with ATL. The drivers there do mindless ish....

This is the best advice.....whether you go north or south, you better stop at the newer Love's farther north with the Burger King. If you're coming from Valdosta, I think I'd go to the Jackson, GA location over Tifton if you can make it.

Yes and yes.....Atlanta is just bad period at most times of the day.....except at 2 am.....the junction of 85 and 285 is some of the worst bottlenecking.....

Rideandrepair, Eldiablo and tscottme Thank this.
