    Hello:

Does anyone know anything about Prime trucking? I have seen their website and it looks good. Currently I may drive with either SNI or WS, but I would like to know about Prime? Can anyone check out their website and explain the process or levels? "B, C, and A?" How much is the pay? Which division is better when you are just starting out? Reefer, Flatbed or Tanker? Do you think Prime is better than SNI or Watkins and Shepard for a new driver, as far as pay and training is concerned? I am not going to ask about truck leasing yet, because I lack the experience and the knowledge to go in that direction as of yet. Maybe in 3-5 years will I even think about it. How does one go about teaming? Is reefer the only teaming opportunities? Any help will be appreciated it. Thanks again.

    John

PS: I don't want to sound indecisive about which company I should work for, I just want to make an informed decision, because I am talking about the rest of my life here. :biggrin_25525:

I would suggest going over to PumkinDriver.com and doing a search on Prime. Even though it's a Schneider-centric site there is lots of good info from drivers that left SNI and are now with Prime. Good luck with your search, I too am looking at going with Prime. Been out of the business for yrs. and am finally ready to go back otr.

If you call Prime.....they will tell you honestly what their pay program is. All student drivers start out as C-seat drivers, and as their experience progresses, they move up the B-seat(co-driver), then to A-seat(lead seat). I've only been back at Prime for 5 weeks and am quite happy with it. But, they expect you to work.....you don't sit with these guys.

yeah you can't sit when you have to drive 2,200 miles in 34 hours or from denver to memphis in 15, the time tables with prime are retarded !! when i was there i not only bent but broke dot laws everyday !!! i'm talking 15-16 hours everyday, oneday i had to drive 19 hours, and when they didn't give me home time after 10 weeks out, i got on a bus so they kept the weeks pay i had coming for 7000 miles worth of driving.
    prime sucks !!!!

We are going to electronic logs... gonna be real hard to do that.

Under the old system: Honestly anyone doing 7000 miles is being greedy and taking the risk on themselves. If you cant do the load legal, Prime expects you to tell them. They couldnt see a driver's log book and could only go by what a driver told them they could do.

Now its a bit changed... While they are still trying to develop a way for the load planners/sales to have direct access to a drivers available hours/log book. The Fleet Manager knows exactly how many hours a driver can and cant drive... With the e-logs he can see nearly everything on your log book.
