Deliver there Monday...been a decade since I've been there. I've heard, uh, less-than-stellar things about the truckstops or truck parking on 77. Am I better off staying at, say, Robstown until early Monday morning?

I'm in Orange, TX at present. Thanks as always!

I always carry a minimum of two to three gallons of bottled water, so I'm good there!

T/A in Gonado (I-59)..... big parking lot, pretty good restaurant (don't get Cajun Catfish.... it's TexMex and hoooooot) plus Subway and Pizza Hut. Good service shop.

Loves in Edna (I-59)..... small lot (abt 15 trucks). Subway. Poor service. We fuel there.

Couple odd ones in Victoria, no experience with em

Robstown (I-77)..... reasonable size lot, soso food, absoloutely crappy coffee.:biggrin_25521:

Pilot in Kingsville (I-77)..... reasonable lot, standard pilot stuff.

From there on down...... Jack S.

It's a Love's actually. There is a decent truckstop about 2 miles before you get to the chicken coop in Riviera. The next truckstop is about 60 miles south before you get to Harlingen in the town of Combes.

There is also a little place called Gords Bait and Tackle on 48?( South Padre Highway) just about 1-2 mile down on the left hand side (going towards Mexico) . Can park maybe 10 trucks and it does have a shower(little cinder block building) nothing special but not too bad, and not that far past Wal Mart.(corner of 48 and 811)

Any updates on this? Have to go to Brownsville for Thursday morning. Don't want to have to park 30mi north in Combes. Thanks.

You might have a door & one wheel left when you get back from your shower. Unload, & leave. Most of your truck will be in Mexico before you know it. It's not funny.
