me and my boyfriend are thinking about joining central, but we had 1 concern before we started. We was told by the recruiter that we would be together through the whole training process, even when we go on the road for the 30 days training. We want to make sure this is true. If anyone can help, please do. Thanks

Ok I have sent out 25 resumes this morning. Let's all bow our heads in prayer that something comes of all this I've done this morning.
Looks like my kids may actually get to see real snow for the 1st time in their lives later in the week. Calling for snow here in Atlanta Thursday and Friday. All I know is it is butt cold here right now just took the dog out and it feels like it's about -50. I know it's not be we are so not used to it being this cold here. It really is only 26 but with the windchill they say it feels like 12 and I can believe that one.
1bad is heading to the house should be in sometime tomorrow! Least I will get to snuggle with him for at least 10 hours. Hope he gets out before the snow hits. Because atlanta shuts down with a light dusting of snow! -
Good luck with the job hunting widow.
I'd be happier than a coon dog on a bare leg if I lived in that Atlanta area. I know its cold there now, hang in there, it won't be all winter.
After sittin in the truck in MN for 5 days (while my trainer had christmas) and then puttin chains on in 3 deg weather, I'm ready for some warm weather myself.Last edited: Jan 4, 2010

Ok, so I'm supposed to head to Riverside and train for Central Refrigerated later thi month.
How are things there now? I haven't heard much of anything about them lately and I hope I'm not about to make a huge mistake. -
I am brand new to this site but have been reading all day through the posts. I am considering going to the school in Conley to work for Central. I really just want to get my CDL and do my year and get out. Near the beginning of this year from the thread it seemed like miles were down and not very good, but it seems that they are picking up again, is this true? I really want to do drive for a good company, is this really a good starting point, or is there something out there that is better?

Ok sent out 25 resumes and I have an inteview tomorrow at 3:00 just a part time thing but that's better than no time. And it will still give me time to find something better and make a little money in the mean time. Thanks for all the well wishes friends!

Currently I am unemployed and looking to get out of the darn pizza delivery or minimum wage businesses. I am ready to get a career, not just a job. So I guess, I'm trying to get a career out of it and not just a job.

The Central school is good. Its a good 1st yr co, as many have said.
The trainers- most are good, some are bad. kinda luck of the draw
The miles- depends on who u get as a DM, how hard you work, and the economy improving.
I know a student who just got his truck a month ago and (so far) is getting 3000 miles a wk. But, I heard some are lucky to get 2000.
You might make more $ delivering pizza. You might not.
Kinda of a gamble. But if you don't have tons of bills, family issues, and you stick it out, you should be fine.Last edited: Jan 4, 2010
