Just wondering what you guys think, we purchased a used truck awhile back, it was bought safetied and was told by the dealer if anything goes wrong with it, minor things he said they would take care of it. The batteries were pooched and i called and talked with the dealer and he agreed to go halfers with us, i also mentioned to him the fan in the cab didn't seem to blow much air on high and i see there is a wheel seal leaking on the front, when i mentioned this to him he said to bring it back when we get it on the road in the springtime. I am hoping he will take care of these things or at the least go halfers again. I had quite a few lights on the side fairings to fix and 2 in the back of the cab that had no power to them at all, we had our mechanic out for about 5 hours makng these repairs. Do you think this would be fair to expect the dealer to take care of these things and go halfers or should they take care of everything, just wondering what you all think, personally i would be happy with 50-50, just looking for your thoughts, thanks all.
What do you think regarding a used truck

In my opinion, I'd be more worried about the bigger stuff that would break you financially than stuff like lights, fans, etc.
Stuff like that I'd just fix myself, but that's me. I'm a tinkerer.
Them used trucks can nickel and dime you to death. -
Perhaps I missed it but how long have you had the truck?
I would not expect the dealer to pay for any off it unless it happened within a week or two from getting the truck..
The stuff you mentioned I would think would be pretty much general maintenance with a used truck..
Now if your talking about a A/C compressor or dryer then your talking about something
Now there is the lemon law that says you have 30 days to report any items that are not working properly. You must report them to the dealer within the 30 day and have the repairs done within a reasonable time..
You enter a grey area with the "reasonable time" cause what exactly is a reasonable time period? that would be up to a judge if it went that far... -
Ok just to clear a few things, we bought the truck in the week before Christmas 2007, had the truck painted and brought it home and its sitting in the shop and never been driven yet, i had talked to the dealer and mentioned the things that have happened so far, he agreed to the batteries and he also said to bring it in when we get the plates on in spring time and said he would look at everything and we agreed to halfers on the batteries, i imagine we will both work together with the other things and go halfers with him, he has been very agreeable and good to work with. I jsut wondered what everyone else has experienced before and if that is the normal thing to do. I feel the dealer has been fair and i am also, can't nickel and dime the dealer and i don't want to be nickel and dimed either.

I think they should take care of the stuff you mentioned to him. The rest of the stuff, I think your on your own.

what the dealer promised to do & will do may be 2 different things. after buying a truck in 07' I would not expect anyone to still keep his promise to this date. if he does, he must be one honest guy.
