After 20 years in sales the job market got to be where I was finding entry level positions requiring Masters degrees for inside sales. I decided that I either needed to go back to school or pick up a skill.
As I was researching trucking schools I actually came across a sales position in the trucking industry. I took the position and plan on going for my CDL to fall back on in case things do not work out in this economy.
My father drove for Yellow Freight for over 30 years so I have an idea what to expect. The first couple years a pretty rough if I have to take that road. In the meantime I get to to talk and help truckers out on a daily basis selling a membership to a Broker-free load board.
Any suggestions on which schools are the best in the Chicago area or tips on making a little bit of money the first couple of years are welcome.
