How much do fleet managers make

The person I spoke with said they prefer a good driver move into that position since they have that experience. Said it is hard to get any to make the move because the good experienced drivers can make a lot more money driving.

 

My last DM said they are making between 55 and 65 straight salary and an over ride on all of their drivers miles in a months time. He made 82K last year and was on track to make much more then that this year. They did loadcplanning and dispatching and were required to answer their cells after hours.

 

No one should be required to answer their phone after hours.
When your shift ends you should have no interruptions.

I have been told by some DM's that I could call them anytime on their cell, even if they were off duty.
I never would, and consider anyone that would (driver or co-worker) a dirtbag.
