The controller in the engine compartment has some indicator lights that will tell you if there are certain kinds of faults such as high temperature or a bad alternator. I'd start there. The unit will also shut down if the oil is low.bzinger Thanks this.
-
Oil isn't low but it says temperature. I am gonna try taking out the thermostat and see if thar works.
-
I had a sticky thermostat on mine once. That could be it.
Is your fan belt tight?
Are there valves to shut off the coolant circulating through the truck engine and are they open? -
Let me start be saying thank you for your feed back. The valves are open and the belt seems tight. I'm obviously trying to avoid expensive repair shopd, but may have to break down and go to one.
-
Might be the connector to the thermostat sensor might be loose. Mines does that after awhile on the road just gotta snug it down again. It’s usually that if it gives an overheat alarm 15 seconds after the apu starts up stone cold not even long enough to overheat.
SoonerNation88 Thanks this. -
How would I post a picture?

I'll look at that.

I checked it out, snug fit. Belts do seem a bit loose.
