Who's IFTA?
Who will be paying the fuel taxes?
Do it right and get it all in one package.
Most of it is now done online so having your own shouldn't be an operational problem.

Yes sir I found in the contract that I have 45 days to return all items to include the plates. However, I agree and want more balls in my court. Isn't that why we are owner operators? Thank you sir.Bean Jr. Thanks this.

Yes sir, I agree and thank you. I can certainly afford it, not why I asked. I absolutley agree and want the most control there is to have, that's why I'm doing it to begin with. Happy Holidays.Speed_Drums, Bean Jr. and brsims Thank this.

Either way you still pay taxes
When I ran my own plates it was still the company who took care of all that
It was just my plate
I had to go with a company plate when I bought a new truck and the dealer messed up the paperwork but I’m going back to using my own after this yearSpeed_Drums and Bridgestreetblues Thank this. -
First thing I did when I bought my first truck was get my own bobtail/physical damage insurance. Second thing I did was get my own plate. Would've been cheaper to go through the carrier, but then I would've lost my favorite threat to dispatchers: Stickers went on real quick, bet they fall off even faster!Speed_Drums and Bean Jr. Thank this.

Lmao, same here I just got the basic to move it around. Once I sign on, I'll up it to whats required by carrier. Havent actually decided on which carrier yet but I have it down to two. Thanks for the reply.

I always thought IFTA has to be filed by the company you’re leased on to. Since it’s their authority your running under. Plates different since you own the Truck. If your paying either way for the plate, probably better to get your Own. Only difference may depend on the cost. Different States have different primary fees. Might want to compare prices. As far as I know IFTA only applies while running freight. Until your under contract, or when you break a lease. You can drive home, without IFTA. Maybe I’m wrong about IFTA. I don’t think you can get an account without authority.
