Does Melton micromanage they're drivers. Also are they a good starter company for someone that has no experience. I obtained my CDL A license in 2000 but never went OTR, I'm 55 yrs old and looking at flatbed companies I've always liked to get my hands Dirty. LOL. I've been approved for P&S and Melton. Thanks, Happy Holidays

You better like tarping. Melton tarps almost everything.
-
Yeah I heard.
P&S claims they tarp 40% of there loads and pre-tarped. -
I replied to you already in the P&S thread. But…
I never felt like I was micromanaged there. I was told it got worse after I left (2018) but can’t confirm. Like most companies — they want you to run their freight and get it there somewhat on-time pending breakdowns, family emergencies, and out of your control circumstances — weather, accidents, etc. I never felt pushed by the desk jockey to run through roads I didn’t feel comfortable with. Chain law up? Melton's policy is to park it.
At 55 — be sure you’re willing to throw tarps at Melton 2 times a week, at least. They run a three tarp system, which can be great or awful depending on what you’re loading. I tarped A LOT there. And at 26 years old currently, I don’t miss it.Speed_Drums Thanks this. -
Gotcha Thanks for your input
-
Their 3 tarp system is a piece of cake compared to the two piece P&S runs. And for the record, you'll have to "properly" lift one the tarps during orientation. If you can't, they will send you home.Speed_Drums Thanks this.

I have a question… what do you mean by “approved for”?
-
As I’ve said before. Depends on the load.

Accepted my applications & background

K. You applied for the job. For a moment, it sounded like a recruiter song and dance.
