That's quite the journey you've been on. Best of luck from a new forum member to a veteran one! BTW, is the S&S you mentioned the same one who also dabbles in contracting for FedEx Ground and runs along the I-81 corridor, or is that some other company by a similar name?

It’s a similar name. S&S does a lot of things, running for FedEx isn’t one of them. They do treat the drivers very well for the most part.

There' s a million S&S s out there. We rarely run I 81 unless its a load from NY or PA to AL, or the brief stretch of I 81 that runs with either I 64 or I 77. Most of our running lanes is along I 80, I 90, I 94

Anyone following and/or contributing to this thread work for S&S work out of the Anniston terminal? Or have knowledge about they way they run? I was wondering how many miles a week regional drivers out of that terminal average. And do you go with the .50 CPM or the $1,400/week pay structure? I'm guessing based off of the weekly pay option over CPM, weekly miles can be around 2,800.

I left S&S Fargo about 6 months ago. Got a call from Brian (recruiter) last week. He told me the guarantee is based on miles plus if you don't make the miles you get paid while on home time. That's how they do the guarantee.

I always enjoyed going to the Anniston terminal. Got along with the people there. It was my preferred terminal. Would have had to move to work there.

I have nothing negative to say about the company. They treated me well.

In Anniston, the drivers do either an AL -GA -AL and repeat on the van side. The flatbed side usually do AL-NC-GA-AL and repeat. Some drivers do a Sunday through Friday, or Monday to Friday run. They also have a few runs out of the Vance area as well. There's a few drivers that get over 3,000 miles a week on regional. There are some regional drivers that do over 3,000 miles a week

Been a long while since I’ve been on here. My T680 couldn’t stay out of the #### shop so now I’ve got a Cascadia as my truck, good riddance that KW gave me nothing but problems, and the Freightshakers turning radius is really nice up in WPG. Things are still good same old same old for the most part

I'm glad I did some homework , as this recession under the current regime , makes paychecks dwindle , I realize this.
As I just passed 2 yrs at Pohl , and am driving those ridiculously slow trucks , every other aspect of Pohl is very Un characteristic of Typical Trucking.
A few months shy of 36yrs of doing this dirty deed , I now no longer put the almighty dollar 1st. When things pick up there is only 1 bummer about Pohl ...
    67mph trucks ...
Small engines in the hills with over 78000 ttl gr gives ya the puckered puss .
But at the end of the day I can be thankful that the front office far out weighs the negative of the need for " Not Speed " lol.
I believe I'll stay where I'm smiling at the end of the day. Yes the checks can be better , but my happiness is more important.
I looked into S&S Transporters earlier today , spoke with Mitch but I may be on a wrong page here , as he was in Max Meadows VA and they have only 50trucks.
    72 mph ... maybe there's another S&S of Anniston Al .
