Then I wouldn't work for that company. They can try and pressure you all they want. The ultimate decision rests with the driver. No load is more valuable then a driver's safety.

sometimes I think people just want to complain because they did't get their way? too many times people post on places like this an just whine or don't really explain and then afterwards you don't here a word from them. its too bad too because they sometimes cause people to look at something or someone incorrectly.

Uh, it didnt sound like he has a problem with that, just stating what he knows. Anyway I have known Gordon drivers that have been there for a long time and havent heard many major complaints. -

I was told by Jim Hamby I was flat out denied employment. Im assuming because I had back surgery. Never had dui, no accidents, last speeding ticket under 10 in Ohio in 06 and in 05 I was empty in upstate N.Y. and went past a portable scale. I was given a ticket for that.

And just so there is no misunderstanding, When I saw the ad in the Green Bay Press Gazette on Sunday about a month ago, I called the 1-800 number, Don't hold me exactly to this, but I think the guys name was Dan or Dave. He told me to see Jim and I also mentioned over the phone prior to filling out an application about my wonderful experience with Schneider, how it started out just fine and went down hill about 4 months later with a good work review. That was also pertaining to payroll of $255.43 per 7 days of work for several weeks at a crack. That did not seem to be an issue with them at all the way it ended with Schnieder. I also had my Hazmat reinstated. And I mainly haul the large rolls of paper that they get. So thats why Im assuming I was denied because of my back. And I do have my medical card and the pre hire with Schneider which is pretty thorough.

so that makes a bad company because they deny you a job? hahaha...Good luck in the real world...A friend of mine put in over 20 years at Gordens and retired last year...He liked working for them..

I worked for GTI also, the problem I had with them, was inexperience dispatchers telling the drivers what, how, and when to do it. You try to explain that you don't have the hrs. to do it or drive, they get upset with you. For driving 27 days out, and my biggest take home check for a week was a whopping $302.00 for the darn week, now how can anyone live on that pay? I had many weeks of short runs, 100 to 300 mile trips, with many no loads avalable for several hours, and tons of down time. I would not recommend GTI to anyone. Then the best one of all, Temps were zero degrees, I was running the truck to stay warm, I was ordered to shut the truck down to save fuel. Fuel prices over SAFETY. another case, I was 1 mile from the terminal, and the dispatcher ordered me to go back to where I dropped a trailer and sit there for 10 hrs. I was going to do a reset. HOW STUPID on there part. They lost a good dedicated driver.
