Starting new driving job the 29th. Going with Marten.

    They don't tell you where to park. They want it to be parked in a secure location with the steering lock on(which is not hard at all to put on.) They don't consider truckstops to be secure locations. The good thing is they deliver into a Petsmart DC right here where I live. So my boss says there will be a lot of times they will have me drop my trailer there when I go home, which is good cause then I could park the bobtail in my driveway

    I think if you take less deductions on your W2 it might offset the per diem at the end of the year. I might be wrong but thats what I did. I don't want to owe or get only a couple hundred bucks back in April. If anyone knows about this please advise.

    I got offered a job there once and something else came up. Maybe when the owner of the company takes one too many vacations to Europe and puts the company out of business I will try them again.

    I went by the little outfit (Tenco Transportation) I drove for over a decade ago and they are gone. Oh I hate to see the independents disappearing.

    Oh I do have a complaint though about Marten. I think their health insurance could be better. I would think with a company of this size they would have better negotiating power at getting good insurance for a decent price. But then again I'm sure they went with what they got in order to save money, but it definitely isn't the greatest coverage around.

    Ok just an update for you all. After empty in New Stanton, heading to Carlisle to pickup going to Atlanta for Friday morning. Of course darn near anywhere is frigid this week. Hopefully can get a good run for the weekend out of Atlanta. So far I'm liking what I see here at Marten

    Holy cow! Gonna be down in Atlanta later this morning and they've already told me to drop this load at the Forest Park terminal and then I'll be loading to go to Tuscon for Monday morning. Haven't been to Forest Park yet but I've been warned it's a pain in the rear to get around in
