Hello guys ,
Just want to know your advice about moving to orlando area .are there any owner operators here that already live there? Are there any decent income to be made running local and leasing with a company out of there ?
Thanks

You can live down here. But most of us do OTR because of the very, very low pay for local.
There is no driver shortage in Florida. Never has been and never will be.Speed_Drums, LoneRanger, singlescrewshaker and 3 others Thank this. -

I'm from Nashville area, but moved to Nevada.
Lots of intermodal work in Central Florida.

I got infatuated with Florida too. Especially Gulf coast. Tampa, Sarasota, Venice... I have had fantasies about moving down there but the house market is in the seller's hands now and I may be overpaying big time.
As far as O/O business...that would have to be reevaluated because there is nothing outbound. All that supplemental regional revenue I do in Illinois would be gone. So, I figure that at first, there'd be lots of deadheading out of there to Georgia or further north. It would be kind of like 7 days out to get enough revenue before coming back and rest a few days.
What about parking rents over there?
But do I really want it? I kinda like todays Chicago, sunny, freezing weather, biting on my face... Maybe I'll stick to going there for vacations for now.singlescrewshaker and warrior12345 Thank this. -
- @D.Tibbitt is from Melborne/Orlando area. Maybe he will give some tips.
