I've been tempted to try stopping at the Ilhane(sp?) travel center off the I5 (exit 16?). I think it's on the Cowlitz reservation?
Is it also a truck stop with good parking? I've had generally good experience with travel centers on Indian land, especially the food if you need something REAL, not cheap junk.
Tips?

I used to drive local in the PNW between Seattle and Portland. When I moved for California they were building a truck parking lot and I don’t know if it’s done or if there’s parking limits. I never had to take a 10 hour on the job so I only popped in there for my 30 minute break, and I would pull into the gas station/travel center parking lot. It’s not a truck parking lot but it’s very big and has plenty of room for a full size tractor and 53. Pull around back to the diesel pump behind the building and usually you won’t be bothered for a 30 minute break.
the food is ok, it’s usual high end gas station fare, they have fried chicken, corn dogs, cheese curds etc, they also have various high end sandwiches like roast beef and Cubans you can put in the microwave, their breakfast burritos are good, their coffee is excellent.
like I said, I don’t know about going into the casino itself or taking a long break there, but you can pull into the parking lot of the detached gas station easily and take a 30 minute break there -

Isnt this near your neck of the woods?BennysPennys Thanks this. -
Not exactly sure where you're talking about. I don't recall seeing that stop. Generally when I ran between Portland and Seattle and needed a place for a break or overnight, I stayed at Gee Cee's at exit 57 off of the I-5. They have a diner with decent food and great clam chowder 7 days a week as well as prime rib I believe on weekends. Otherwise I'd stay up in Napavine across the highway from the Love's in back of the Rib Eye restaurant which has outstanding steaks and food in general with a full bar. There is also a PFJ at exit 99. It's much easier staying south of Seattle and driving into the city from there, rather than trying to find a spot that's closer to the city.

He’s talking about the big casino right past the port of entry scale in Washington, exit 16. There’s a car and RV travel center detached from the casino big enough for a truck to park inSteveScott Thanks this.

I L A N I .
There's a "travel center" there now? Are you talking same side of highway as the casino? Or did they expand the small fuel place on the eastern side of I5?
I pulled in there once and saw some shady stuff going on. Forget what it was, but never went back there again.
MickeyD's and BK both have truck parking. Used to make a weekly run to Portland and hit one or the other on the way back. -
Micky D's and BK are literally 100 yards away from the Ribeye restaurant. What kind of "shady stuff" would force you to move a few yards away and never return to that spot? Was the earth going to open up and swallow your truck?tscottme Thanks this.

It was in the back parking of the little truck stop next to the Ribeye. Had something to do with fuel. Can't remember exactly what it was, but there was some redneck engineering going on I wanted to be far away from.
And McDonalds is down and across the street. Not really that close.
