There are 2 types, the older digital and the newer LCD screen.
The LCD being better and I would say more expensive. -
this is for a 2000 T-800 but if i could get harness and all and it actual plugs into old
spots doesn't matter to me -
I looked for one for a while also. Never had any luck so I gave up.

I've seen them on ebay from time to time.

Interestingly, Cummins claims that its RoadRelay works with ANY other engine. I dont think its any cheaper though, just sayin...

Oh, and when mpg numbers cannot be trusted - all the rest is just totally sweet bunch of mostly unneeded however highly educational info. Like atmospheric pressure

I understand the fuel numbers aren't accurate. I'm not necessarily looking for the actual MPG number, just if a certain gear is better than another. I don't care if it's reading 2mpg or 12mpg, I'm just curious if shifting another gear up shows 2.5mpg or 12.5mpg or it goes down. (I think that makes sense)

I have never paid attention to that, I think that instant mpg is fluctuating too much to be really helpful. But you might be right, especially with CATs where rpm band is so wide - I could be interesting thing to watch.
The other reason why I don't care much about my mpg is that somehow I feel in my guts, that going under 1400 rpm with my motor is not really good idea in the long (looong) run. So, I'm kind of more focused on "effortless running", sweet spot... nice hummin...
It seems to me, that shaving .1 or .2 mpg is not worth make it sweat. Its also double over with 3:36 axles. Whole thing is just built to run fast, running fast-geared truck slow and lugging the engine ? Well, not me. But, I might be wrong on that a bit... But I need my truck to last really long time when its being run hard... Something gotta give and is gotta be mpg.

Oh I understand. I went from driving a 6nz C15 on 3:70's to an Acert with 3:36's. So I had to learn to drive again and was always curious when empty on level ground is the fuel mileage better sort of lugging in 13th (around 1100rpm) or just run 12th at say 60mph (around 1300rpm). Thought that maybe the ID would show but I'm not curious enough to pay for one anymore.

Not an issue much any more since fuel mileage is a distant dream with what the truck is doing now.
