I just started with Sysco (2 weeks) but Abf called and they want to interview me next week. I know for sure that Sysco will pay more in the short term but Abf is looking more desirable long term. I know Abf is Union overtime after 8 hours and 10 hours on a 4 day schedule, but Sysco can run your body down with the overtime. Not sure if the grass is greener crossing over. Any advice is appreciated!

I get 90% of 26 pay for first year. Then it gets to regular 26 after that.

So about 23.5 an hour, benefits, pulling doubles…any touch freight? I looked into ABF at one point but joined the tanker gang. Only thing I’d probably do different at this point is end dump, gravel trains etc. but don’t mind me somethings not right upstairs, I prefer more dangerous stuff lol

If you don’t have any qualms about what you prefer to drive I’d always suggest local tankers. It’s wonderful

Look at the benefits ABF has, you won't do better, and no humping groceries into the 7/11

not sure if we touch freight at Abf. I have the interview here soon and I’ll ask then. I know it’s nights starting out which I could deal with.

Yeah, idk…if you’re willing to break your back at Sysco there’s definitely some local stuff out there where you’ll chip at $28-30 starting out hourly and probably work 60 a week at least with benes etc and a little work.

I do fuel and love it. Chemical tanks I hear are almost workless…cryo of course is an option as far as the tanker thing. You could potentially find some morning stuff, especially with end dump…dump truck construction stuff but what area are you out of?

Out of New Orleans. I thought about fuel too since they’re a lot of jobs out here for that.

Yeah. Detroit here so of course fuel is nonstop here. But it’s honestly a great ####ing gig…and guaranteed to see you over 80k pretty much anywher. Very little actual work.
