Hello
I'm a 23 year old truck driver from Denmark, who has decided to move to States, to spend the rest of my days, preferably driving trucks. This seems like an almost impossible mission, because I have to obtain a green card. But oh well, that's how it is I guess.
I already have a danish CDL, but of course this does not work in the States. I've heard that to start CDL training I will need to have had a car drivers license in US for 1 year. Can someone confirm this? I have of course had a danish drivers license for many years.
Hope you can help me,
Thanks,
Nicklas

Haha, yeah I understand. Some people just don't fit in to that society, and I guess I'm one of them.

Despite having hit songs such as "Juke Box Hero" and "I wanna know what love is" and "Urgent" Foreigner, is required to have the same credentials as everyone else.

Not gonna lie, I'm not even mad. Made me chuckle

On a serious note, Ive never heard of the having to have license a year before a CDL can be obtained. It just says existing license must be valid. And proof of citizenship.dwells40 and blairandgretchen Thank this.

Right, I can't find anything about either. I know you guys also have a lot of eastern European driver, who I highly doubt has spent 1 year in the States, before obtaining a CDL

Hope you get here soon. You already have a skill, which will help with a visa.
Make sure you put on your application that you're a professional truck driver.

Or Arkansas!!! We’re a really laid back state. I doubt you’d need a year to get one in Arkansas.
