    The APU on ol' Blue was fairly reliable after I converted to a Delco alternator and completely replaced all the refrigerant lines and compressor. Had something like 30,000 hours on it.

    That's basically what happened with that one. Rebuilt everything except the engine and the alternator. Condenser, coils, evaporator, high pressure lines. The actual engine was pretty bullet proof.

    Not withstanding the wtf comfort it provides, the fuel saved pays for it, but the tens of thousands of hours idling that are not put on your engine are priceless.

    Unless you got dat old iron. Tear dat old iron down every weekend in your spare time anyhow.

    There’s still hope. You still have to call to see if your number’s in the range the day before.

    Although it does suck having that over your head until then.
