Our first stop of a three stop, three day tour is at 0330 in the morning. Locally.
So I've been sent to do the laundry, the last step in the preparation process.
Now that we're back from the frozen wastelands, the cleaners has my winter jackets done.InTooDeep, dwells40, Speed_Drums and 6 others Thank this. -

Had a dream last night that i was changing the oil in my truck . i drained all the oil then drove the truck down the parts store. (With no oil in it) then the lady behind the parts counter gave me a 55 gallon drum of 90w gear oil... i said lady, this is the wrong stuff. I need 15-40 and 12 gallon jugs... Oh ok sir no problem...
Then she comes back with like 200 bottles of finger sized oil jugs saying my total will be over 2,000 dollars.... I said u got to be kidding me, what kind of parts store is this... I remeber being so confused and angry and hopped right back in my rig (with no oil in it) and drove right back home. About that time im pulling into the driveway my engine seized up.... At that point i became so angry and lit my truck on my fire right there in the driveway... About the time the fire department showed up thats when i woke up and realized it wasnt real life.... But im still angry about how the parts counter lady can be so dumb...Feedman, thelushlarry, lilillill and 22 others Thank this. -

I'm so glad that I live in a very good area with good folks that are willing to help.
Last night I decided that the snow and ice had mwlted enough that it would be ok to park out front of my house. I avoid parking there when there is snow and ice bwcause it has enough of a side ways slope that the truck could slide into the gutter.
Well... I was WRONG. The sniw and ice was NOT melted enough to park there. Just as I was about to stop and set the brakes, my drives slid sideways about 6 inches. Locked inter-axle and tried to pull out... Slid another 6 inches.
Hung every piece of iron I have and tried again. Was able to move about 3 feet... Drives again slid sideways. Backed up about a foot and tried forward again... Just got moving and the steers slid sideways 2 feet, chained drives then proceeded to dig holes. F it, I'll deal with it tomorrow.
Thus morning I was able to contact the local LDS Bishop who is a big farmer. He knew a neighbor down the road from me that has a moderately large John Deere tractor. This neighbor called me and said he would be at my house in 20 mins with a tractor amd chain to help. I went out and started the truck and installed my tow hooks.
Just as promises the neighbor arrived. We hooked the chain to my tow hooks and he very gently amd slowly crept forward while I eased on the throttle to ease my truck out... He was able to pull me so slow that my speedometer didn't even register 1 MPH. Got me back up on asphalt and I was free.
I expressed my gratitude and he said he was happy to help anytime I needed it. I also thanked the Bishop for his help. Folks can say what they want about Mormons, but most of them are good, honest folks willing to help any way they can... At least that is my experience with LDS folks in humble farm country.Swine hauler, Feedman, calnca and 23 others Thank this. -
Good to have neighbors like that as well.. Where I stay at my dad's in a suburb of Arizona. The neighbors here nobody talks to each other. I even waved at another car while driving thru the neighborhood and I might as well have pointed a gun at them with the look on their face.. If I approached one of the neighbors for help, I bet I'd either be met with a phone call to the cops or a gun pointed at my face.... People in the city are so paranoid about anything. And very unwelcomingInTooDeep, dwells40, 4mer trucker and 12 others Thank this.

He is not worth killing and the grief you would be caused by authorities for doing it. Just hang loose and quiet, maybe a neighbor could be enlisted to be available should he return.Dale thompson, dwells40, austinmike and 5 others Thank this.
