Went out to the workshop to fire up the heater; 32.2° on my weather station & raining. Lost half my coffee walking out there slipping and sliding on the new ice sheet. Heard a log truck coming down the grade, straight pipes jake, man it's taking him awhile. I've got a spot where I can get a little peek of the main road & see his lights go by, I could walk faster than he's going. If a log truck is going that slow it's pretty much un-driveable for mere mortals. Workshop day!

Meh, I do mostly ag exemption stuff so eld ain't really a problem for me anyway. Ain't one to stop all the time either. Get up in the morning grab breakfast and some drinks maybe snack to hold me till lunch and then we go on down the road. I can't stand a mfr likes to stop every couple hours or lolligag along. Most of my trips I can get to the drop in a day if I hoof it so thats how we run. Sleep when it's empty.

This may sound like a lunch counter story but I personally believe the source.
I never saw it but was told of a lady(?) trucker in the early 70's who ran a truck and trailer who had a flat 6(?) supposedly from a bus direct drive under the trailer to use climbing mountains.
With both Detroits being set up to run up to 2400 or more the truck could run 2 loads per week from So-Cal to Edmonton Ab per week running double.

Spent the last two days at tht home base. Got the oil changed in the truck and had to replace the right front wheel seal. The leaking seal ruined the brake shoes so I went ahead and tossed a new set of shoes on the steer axle. Gonna hit the road tomorrow and get myself rolling northbound to Minnesota.

Picked up some new LED marker lamps for the back of my trailer and found a really cool set of crystal clear oval lamps with 60 LED lights inside of then to put into the open slots in my grille guard and be my new fog lamps/driving lights. I'll post some pics when they arrive on Tuesday.

What’s up with that? Always see them concrete pumps going up and over, not down the road like that.

Bad storm, inexperienced operator on that equipment, supposedly a bad chart and also they say where one of the rear outriggers was placed wasn’t good ground. These “facts” are from a lot of different sources. We were just glad nobody was killed. And glad it wasn’t us. We were set to go on that job and got called off a day or two before because a union crane got freed up. That WAS a 500 ton Liebherr crane. Lifting steel to one of the spires on the National Cathedral in D.C.
