Oh I hear you. You couldn’t pay me enough to work on some of the new stuff. I was just complaining to complain. We had that trouble on the 466 all the time too. My least favorite was 7.3l in a E series Ambo.

Excactly why I did a midlife career change.
When the 8/9/10 speed autos came out I did some reflecting. If you think pulling the cab for engine work sucks, dropping engines with the frame cradle out the bottom really sucks.
Same with hanging the engine off a support, removing the subframe and trans.

The mechanical DT was a good solid engine if you took care of it. We put over 900,000 on the 1985 we bought new at R&L.

Block, camshaft, crankshaft, pump all original other than pump being built 1 time. Block never been out of the frame rails, and cam and crank never pulled out.

Sensors “can be” a pain in the butt, but they are kinda nice when working….

Can confirm. Cute little velociraptors that will chew anything and everything until about 2 yrs old. Here's a rare photo of one recharging for it's next attack. 20220103_172135.jpg

Don’t forget Monday is MLK day. Make sure shippers and receivers are open. I already have one that’s closed.

Thanks for the heads up! I got screwed on New Year’s Eve because 2 shippers were closed and never informed anyone. In all my years New Year’s Day was the holiday. I mean I’ve left early on New Year’s Eve but can’t remember not working at all.
