So I’m going to start using elog it looks like and though I’ve had my truck for years I’ve never used elog, I’ve always worked locally.
1. What is a good elog system that is simple and will keep track of my miles for IFTA??
2. Is it legal to use my phone for my elog??
Best and simplest elog system

I use Keep Trucking and it works great. Use it on your phone and does IFTA.
WesternPlains, God prefers Diesels, tscottme and 1 other person Thank this. -
I find that KeepTruckin is one of the better options. Garmin also has a unit that reported to work well.
God prefers Diesels and OldeSkool Thank this. -
After starting with jj Keller we moved to eroad about 2 yrs ago. Wish it had been eroad all along.
OldeSkool Thanks this. -
I also use KeepTruckin. I like it, but I don't have anything else to compare it to, so I don't know if it's "good" or not. The one time I got inspected, the cop said they like it.
WesternPlains and OldeSkool Thank this. -
I've worked with about 5 different ones. Including about three major updates to PeopleNet. By far, Keep Trucking is the best.
OldeSkool, Siinman and God prefers Diesels Thank this. -
I use Blue Ink Tech. Bought the unit for a couple hundred, one time payment only, no monthly. However, I probably would've gone with Keep Truckin if I knew about it then.

I like Keep Trucking but I have a few buddies that use Big Road and like it.
OldeSkool Thanks this. -
I am exempt from elog requirements, but I do use Big Road when I need to log. I have it on my phone, and it seems to work well and is free of charge for my situation.
OldeSkool Thanks this. -
At work, we use ‘Big Road’. That’s the only phone based system I have used, so can’t compare to others. Previous employer used Qualcomm, and then Samsara.
Twice have been inspected, trooper asked to see my logs, help up my phone, and the laminated help guide carry along, and said “Big Road”, trooper said “that’s ok, don’t bother, hand me your b.o.l.”OldeSkool, God prefers Diesels, Siinman and 1 other person Thank this.
