Training has nothing to do with going twice the speed limit or not using the runaway ramps.

Also I’m trying to understand?
Are saying the truck driver was going twice the speed limit on purpose ?
Also are you saying you believe the driver had the appropriate training but ignored it and purposely over work the brakes so they would fail? -
If anything. He should have been going well below the 45 mph limit. Since he was worried about his brakes. Common sense. -
I have not seen or heard what his boss told him was the reason to not leave his pickup point, travel north a few miles and then take I-80 east to Laramie. Then to take US287 south. No mountains, like on I-70. Better driving conditions and easier on fuel and less stress on the driver.

Could the driver read and comprehend the Colorado DOT English language road signs quick enough- during a panic- to understand that:
1. A downgrade was beginning. Downshift to lower gear
2. In case of break failure, take the runaway ramp.
3. Here's the runaway ramp.. TAKE IT!
I know for a fact he passed several signs indicating what he needed to do.
I'm sure lack of training played some role, but after watching the video READING COMPREHENSION, while under pressure, was the biggest factor.
My first heavy downgrade I took solo without a trainer. I followed the road signs and Downshifted, and was ready to use an exit ramp if needed. I was nervous but ready because the signs gave me a heads up before during after.Wasted Thyme and Wargames Thank this. -
