Canada was great, eh. We were a couple of blocks away from the Olympic Village for the 2010 Winter Olympics. Right in the middle of downtown. It was cold by our standards and it rained and rained....
We went to a local casino for the afternoon, and due to my wife's skill at playing a penny machine, we were only down $20 CAD (which oddly enough was exactlyl equal to the USD that partiular day). I lost my shirt, but what she won made up for it. What sucked was that they have stringent no smoking laws and I couldn't fire up my cigar while I sat at the bar and watched the Rose Bowl. I spent $30 USD on cigars before we left, and came home with them unsmoked. Oh well, another day I suppose.
The hardest thing while we were there was the stupid speed limits in kph instead of mph, and it seemed they changed the speed limits every few miles, so it kept me on my toes.
I did find that Oregon is the worst on the US speed limits, their max is only 65. Heck, even California is set at 70....
All in all, a nice little trip, although the return trip was looong. We left our hotel at 5am Saturday and pulled into our driveway at 4am Sunday. My truck didn't allow me to sleep very much while she was driving so I didn't get much rest between driving turns for me. Glad I won't be going the team route....
Thanks for asking.... -
you still on schedule for Feb at Missoula? -
Yep, on schedule. I spoke with Roxy Tuesday and touched base with her. Slated for the Feb 24 orientation. I was gonna try and hit the Feb 15 class, but I don't finish school until the 12th, so that was cutting it a little close for me to get my HPE/drug screen done...Can't wait!!
Wife's surgery is set for this Friday morning, so if you're so inclined, a prayer in her direction would be great.....
You should be getting close to getting to Missoula yourself, right?
Oh, about the cigars....it's funny I can't stand cigarette smoke, but love a good cigar! I'm still a newbie with them, so depend on a good cigar shop to assist me with picking good, mild ones. Don't smoke cigs and it bothers me to be around it a lot so I find it strange I like them so much....best one I ever had was one of my first ones. A Cuban I bought in Mexico while on a cruise and enjoyed on the ship the night before we docked back in San Pedro... -
do they offer CDL training? do they go to california? thanks
-
They used to have training, but they stopped the training for the time being. You need to get your CDL at an "approved" school, they can give you a list. Then a 10 day orientation and your're all set to get out there and earn money.
They do run California, they have terminals in Modesto and Santa Fe Springs.Donnyh Thanks this. -

Warpdrvr Thanks this.

What size inverters are installed in the trucks, or what is the largest they will allow to be installed? I'm kicking around going back on the road and spoke with Roxy a few days ago, I'm still mulling it over at this point. Like the threads that are going aboout WS, good info.
