Here's basically what to expect in orientation. Day one - fill out paperwork, backing and road test, drug test, physical, watch vids, listen to talkers
Day two - more talking and vids
Day three - pick out ur trk from the list they give you, then go to contract lady to look over ur contract and start signing. She gives you time to look over it.
Day four - if ur trk is rdy to go you will be dispatched

I copy the avoid herkyboy lol It sounds like yall are a close knit bunch. That's good to know. Unlike some companies where the drivers won't even give a bear report, road conditions or even pass their fellow driver when broke down along side the road. I must say I am anxious to get out there now. I think the company I'm with now is blackballing me since they know I'm leaving them for JCT. I've been sitting here since last Thursday and the week before that I only got about 1,200 miles for the week. And that consisted of 2 days of driving at 9hrs or less, 2 days of sitting waiting on dispatch to try to find a load, and 1 day of deadheading home from Cartersville, GA to the MO boot heel. Needless to say...I'm ready to roll.

You and our family have my thoughts and prayers with you. Though you've known for a long time of his illness, it still is just as much of a shock when our loved ones pass over. At least you know that he is no longer in any pain or suffering.

    Hugs,
    Dabs

I could be wrong, but don't think so... I don't feel that JCT is that type of company. I feel they have a higher standard than playing those types of games... let's face it... it would be counterproductive for ALL of us if they did such things. And I feel that if they they didn't want you to take a certain number of days off they would say so up front. It just sounds like the freight is a bit slow in the east at the moment... and in general this time of year. :biggrin_255:

Parked for the night... drop in the morning in Sacramento.... no pre-trip yet for the next trip... hmmm... north or south? We've been hitting most of the winter storms so I'm surprised we weren't with you Vulcan on the iced roads.

Had a guy just come up to my window and ask if he could sleep in the trailer... gee... I must look like a REALLY young 55 year old kid... LOL:)

I know the feeling all too well. The company I am with now has just the opposite mentality. They know that I will be leaving them soon to go to JCT on the 18th so my final days they are trying to break me. I have been sitting here at home since last Thursday. I called in 3 times today only to be told "there's just not any freight" and "things are just real slow". I'm only about 45 minutes from Memphis, TN and Jonesboro, AR and about 3 hours from Little Rock, AR. I guess those 3 cities have shut down and quit shipping and receiving lol Oh well! What goes around comes around I guess. Hang in there! I'm sure something will break soon for you.
