The more inflation the less people will be able to buy. It's a head wind. Wages are not keeping up with inflation. The child stimulus money i think ran out in December. I think credit card debt is high. I really should pop for the wall street journal online version.
I don't get it. It should be a national priority to unload the container ships and release the parts. Parts are short for us and personal vehicles. I'm just frustrated but it won't change anything.Eldiablo, homeskillet, Rideandrepair and 5 others Thank this. -
I've always maintained that when someone calls themselves broke, they have no money, that is when they should have $100K on tap.
Now given the current rate of inflation, you need to bump that to $150K. -
The HUGE increase in minimum wage was driving factor in the inflation. People buy into too much baloney too easily. And what will many of them do with their new found wealth? That extra $75 a week after taxes?
That and the current administration's awesomest energy policy. Immigration policy. It's all free now right? -
Weapons are starting to come in. And The OM has authorized purchases. A new 629 Classic is exactly twice as much as what I paid for mine LOL.

Stainless?
I’ve been drooling over a 6” stainless Colt Python lately.Eldiablo, JolliRoger, InTooDeep and 9 others Thank this. -
I do agree with your assertion/perception.
Unfortunately the U.S. has progressed beyond that. Now societal powers that be seem content when a person has less than 2 weeks float money in the bank and under $100k in credit card debt.
Recently heard a report that most home owners do not have enough cash reserves to replace a water heater or other major appliance. Have to finance a replacement. They are in an absolute nasty predicament if their cash flow changes at all (illness or job loss). -
I think that’s from the need to keep up with the Joneses.
“Putting money away for a rainy day? What the hell kind of antiquated crapola is that? We have lives to live.”
dwells40, Eldiablo, homeskillet and 8 others Thank this. -
