Most line haul jobs are home daily. Usually terminal to terminal drop & hook.
Two examples of line haul.
I know two people that work for different companies. They both do a line haul from Nashville to Indianapolis, drop & hook, and return. Home every day. One hauls air freight and don't know what the other hauls.

said I would be out 3 to 4 days. Home daily linehaul would be great if I can find. But most ltl companies seem to ask to work on the dock at least 3 months, then start their CDL training, if available. I would understand to work on docks 1 to 2 months. 3 months or more dockwork seem excessive for a prospective driver. -
What is with drivers allergy to dockwork? I like the challenge of loading a truck, it's like a game of tetris. Unloading can be annoying. The only real thing I hate is recovering pallets that have been destroyed.

I think a few months of line haul will be great experience. Supposedly the best money and you get good at dropping and hooking sets. They also have the better tractors. Best success to you!ozzyoztrucker Thanks this. -
