i worked for barr-nunn for 1 1/2 years loved them as a company. I left back in August due to low freight volumn, i know its slow everywhere but it was worse with them because they use very little brokers to move freight in slow times,i would sit 3 to 4 days in a week, with some 3 to 4 hundred mile runs in between and sit again adding up to the 3 to 4 days.
thats why i went back to refer so at least had more options to work with,
they pay real good, but if u aint runnin u aint earnin. There main customer
base consist of DHL, Fed Ex, P&G, Kellogs,Smuckers and Pella windows ecspeially out of Iowa u are almost gurenteed to get a pella load from Iowa, and they also run some UPS.
Hope this helps and have a great day -
Thanks silver, Yeah very helpful, Have a good holiday!!!

Just started with Barr Nunn. Had a pretty good week. Over all it looks promising. This seems to be a driver friendly company with the pree pass ezpass in and oh toll cards, paying for scales with fuel card and multiple ways to scan your paper work in. No terminal fuel so you can get a free shower just about every day. I was given an '05 columbia with only 200k on it. power mirrors windows air dump and pulls. Its a mid roof though.

Very high turnover, they fire drivers for a little of nothing. They slam DAC reports too, making it near impossible to get a new job ! Read on the other threads about how low and greedy and bad they are. Hope you like freezing in the winter and sweating in the summer, because they don't want you to idle!!

They have no freight! my husband sits for days only making 200.00 a week he's out for weeks and not making any money. he eats soup, the wost thing is he is stuck for 6 months ... how do you find a good company?

They used to pay salary to the northeast regional drivers until the economy went bad. Then they replaced those drivers with mileage paid drivers. Some of the salary guys were forced to mileage pay and quit. Others were terminated for bs reasons so no unemployment would be paid.
