Hi you doing guys, I have a 06 mxs c15 acert. My fuel filter gauge marks 4 on idle and when I rev it up to 1500rpm gauge goes to 7 which makes the red light come turn on. It has a fresh Pm, new fuel pressure sensor. The only thing is I’m running a fleet guard fuel/water filter .. even with light on truck runs mint , no loss of power, everything smooth…before Pm fuel filter light didn’t turn on. It’ll be marking 5 on highway speeds 65-75mph. Any one has an idea of what it can be????

Are you positive you have the correct fuel/ water filter installed
I'am also not a fond lover of fleetguard filters .. I have aways used Cat filters on Cat engines myself

Micron rating may be a little different and engine may be finicky about it..

Never heard of such thing as "fuel filter gauge". The beauty of running older equipment, never know and don't care as long as it is running)

It’s a restriction gauge. I made one for my truck using a 2 -1/16 Stewart-Warner vacuum gauge. Matches all the original gauges in the dash. Best I can tell in my experiment on my old mechanical Cummins is most new filters ( Baldwin and Fleetguard) will show 2 to 4 inches vacuum of restriction new at full throttle. Replace filter when they start to show 10 inches. Pretty much like an air filter restriction gauge.
your engine make and model may have different results.

The restriction gauge may not only read restriction of the filter but the supply line as well. Filter may be fine but there may be a slight restriction starting to form in the hose or fittings from tank to filter head.

I believe what he is referring to is a fuel restriction gage. I have an older truck and have one.
