So would you say that this is only about tracking as opposed to being about BOTH tracking and turning radius?

It makes sense to me that the trailer more closely follows the path of the truck (as opposed to tracking) if the tandems are all the way forward than if the tandems are all the way back.

    Yes, I remember trailer swing.

So would you say that the turning radius increases with the tandems forward?

P.S. Last night I created a thread about trailer swing. I hope you comment on the OP of the thread if you have not done so already. You seem like someone who could probably give an intelligent response to the OP of my trailer swing thread.

Yeah, that's what I had to do at this receiver about a month ago. I learned that thanks to my co-worker.

I have seven years of experience too lol----It's a bit ridiculous that sliding the tandems forward didn't occur to me.

I see two options, after seeing this and your tail swing post.

The first is that you're wasting everyone's time with your trolling.

The second is that you're proof our training and licensing system is completely broken.

I'm guessing the first, mainly because of the intentionally obtuse tidbits you're throwing out there.

I'm trying to understand this at a deep level.

I'm not proof that our training and licensing system is completely broken. I have over a million miles of experience, and I have never wrecked driving forward. I've done over ten thousand backs in my career, and I only have had one backing accident.

What intentionally obtuse tidbit have a thrown out here?

ok. step 1. get out of the said truck. step 2. walk back to trailer tandems. step 3. bend over and pulled trailer tandem release handle (if you have one). step 4. walk back to said truck. step 5. back up said truck. step 6. make your turn. step 7. pull trailer brake (yellow or red knob) or (skull knob). step 8. pull said truck up. step 9. thank security for letting you make a u turn at a truck gate. step 10. look in your mirror and thank your self for being awesome. these are the 10 daily steps i take everyday. hope this helps you

What the heck is trolling about trying to understand how tandem placement affects trailer swing and turning radius?

I know how to slide the tandems. That's not what this thread is about. I never said I don't know how to slide the tandems.

The question of the OP is how does sliding the tandems affect turning radius.

I'm not trying to have fun. I'm trying to learn about how tandem placement affects turning radius. And I am NOT trying to learn how to slide the tandems. I have known how to slide the tandems on a trailer since my trainer taught me that 9 years ago.

Honestly with 7 years of experience. You should already know the answers to both your questions. I know them with less than a year. I guess it's the difference between being a steering wheel holder and it professional driver.
