Should have also mentioned in my reply above: the break-even point is 61 hours 15 minutes on line 3 during the first six days. So if after six days you still have more than 8 hours 45 minutes left on your 70, you gain nothing by doing a reset on the 7th day (with regard to miles maximization anyway...you could still have other reasons to take the day off).

Honestly the question suggests a perfect world. The real answer is whatever the load calls for. I've had loads so tight that I had to burn all my drive clock. But others I could do the 8.5 hours average work day. So I guess you can say the answer is All of the above.

Yes, and in a perfect world you can drive up to 86 hrs in a week.

There are only 7 days in a week not 8 so please don't use 8 in your calculations. -

I think you're missing what the question is, which is my fault because I don't always explain things very well. It's basically just: "After six days starting with a fresh 70, to run the most miles assuming you sleep nights (or days), should you do a reset on the 7th or keep rolling?" All you need to know to answer this question is how many miles you drove during those six days. It doesn't matter what you hauled, whether you had a bunch of drop-hooks instead of live loads and unloads, drove a Pete instead of a KW, smoked cigars while you drove, etc.

Yes. But your question is fantasy. Not reality. Ultimately it is all about the load and it's deadline. In a perfect world. Burning the 70 and taking a 34. Would result in more miles at the end of 8 weeks. Vs running recaps.

To run the most miles you do the 70 in 5 days ,reset and drive the 7th day giving you an extra drive day in a week.
With a reset you are not limited to the 70 hrs in 8 days and
Nowhere does it say you are limited to 11 hrs driving in a calender day ,it just says after 11hrs driving you must rest for 10 hrs
In a 24 hr period you can log up to 14 hrs on line 3 legally.Cattleman84, peteseymour45 and Hammer166 Thank this. -
