I have been looking for information on this company, good or bad, before I accept their job offer. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hey jbird, I live in Seward, Ne home of Seward Motor Freight and I have chosen Crete Carrier. Check out their web sight and then check out Crete
carrier. But that's just my opinion. -
Thanks for the information Moose. Still waiting to hear from Crete, they haven't gotten back to me yet.

Good morning jbird, I originally submitted my app to Hunt Transportation, Specialized Carrier, Flatbed division of Crete Carrier Nov 28, 2007. Although
I had spotty employment due to a couple of surgeries and personal issues
# home, I finally go to Crete, Monday the 21st for my physical, drug and
road test. I am going down to Omaha to get fingerprinted for my Hazmat
this morning, and wil take the test come next week. It's been a long
wait, however it will be worth it. I have to drive for Crete Carrier 6 mos
before I can transfer to Hunt. I've had to call them at times to follow up
and check on the status of my app, but I've always gotten results.
I know they are busy processing apps so hang in there. -
i drove for seward good company nice people but freight a little to slow for me although now i wish i had stayed put... went back to flatbed and its just as slow, like i said seward is a pretty good outfit to go with if you like smaller well run companies..

Does or has anyone ever worked for or have any information on Seward Motor Freight out of Seward Nebraska.

They still on the move, but as another driver stated, things are a little slow.
Spoke to one driver in Omaha and he was frustrated with sitting and waiting
for loads. I know when I drive by on the way home, they have a large sign
"hiring drivers" I've been out here now for 2yrs and still flatbedding, now with
Hinz. And I know out of about 25 students I graduated with, none went
with them. I don't know what's going on there, but there is alot of empty
trucks in the yard. What do you want to do? How long do you want to be
gone? Got family? Need insurance? Alot of things to consider. I'll help if I
can.rickway65 and adamr63063 Thank this. -
I'm hoping for something regional with a terminal close to my home. I'd even accept otr but still need to be able to get home at least once every week. Yes I have a family, insurance really isn't an issue right at the moment. I also have a speeding ticket on my driving record that becomes 3 year old in February. I haven't been behind the wheel of a truck since October 23rd 2009. I'd be willing to jump in with an owner operator and run team for 6 months as long as I can get home once a week. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I am honest hard working and dependable. I don't smoke but wouldn't have a problem riding with someone who does. In the 7 years and 11 months that I worked at my last job, I never called off. Was late 3 times, twice by a minute and once by 10 minutes. I've driven tow trucks and flatbed tow trucks back in the early 90's and as recent as 2000, 2001. So I do know what towing something is like on the small scale. In my CDL training they had us bump some docks, offset, 45 degree and almost 90 degree ones. I trained in a Freightliner with an eaton super 10. I'm just looking for a chance to get behind the wheel and get some miles under my belt. I do not have a passport, so no Canada for me.

As for Seward, according to them, they no longer have a student program. Plus they want 2 years experience.

Does anyone know if they run to the Pacific Northwest? Oregon, Washington? and if they hire from Central Michigan?
