Ok so I have a Frankenstein bc motor. The motor has been running fine haven't really had any problems with it except cold starts. My father in law bought pete with a big cam and we parked them together and I have started them both and mine takes WAY longer to start. Anyways I have been noticing missing coolant and I had to replace a coolant line (just a few months ago I had to replace the radiator so I did belts water pump and thermo and flushed the system out and replaced with new coolant) when I drained the system to replace the hose I noticed that it looked like oil was in the bucket and there was a ring of something left behind. So now I am thinking that I have injector cup going bad. So if I am going to fix it I might as well replace all 3 heads and 6 injectors and get the pump checked to make sure what power rating its at. Anything I am missing or anything I need to think about while I have the heads off?

LOL great question nothing matches engine serial doesn't match truck and cooling system and intake on the truck and numbers on pt pump don't match motor I was originally told it was a 400hp but I have been question and believe that it's actually a lower HP than 400

Look on top the pump, there is a tag riveted to it with the pump code. Give that #to a pump shop and they will tell you what HP rating it is calibrated for. Also on rear left side of block is the serial number to the block, just below the head gasket. Unless the tag is still on the left front the CPL number….

Fuel in the coolant is most often caused by the injector o'rings being hard & brittle. The orings leak & allow pressurized fuel into the cup area. You can remove the injectors & inspect the condition of the orings . If the cups aren't leaking coolant just reseal the injectors & throw a set up at it.

As far as starting goes plug it in.

The big cam engines, especially the 400s, are not very cold blooded.

Ok well thats good news to me how often does that happen since I don't know the history of the motor I have been trying to figure out about how old the motor is I have ordered a oil
analysis kit and when that comes in I'm going to take an oil sample and send that off

The orings can fail due to age. I have seen the cups leak & cause corrosion that damages the injector but that's a rare event. At least in my experience. If you remove the injectors & find the cups leaking you'll have to remove the heads to have the cups replaced.
