To any of you going with Swift,I hope you have made a good decision, and are happy with Swift.I did a very short stint with them a few years back and it was not for me.In my case I was an experienced driver and knew more about the trucking industry than my sorry ##### dispatcher, which cauised a lot of problems.I live in Ohio and was sent to the west coast with a load, then my glorious dispatcherr just left me out there for about a month. He kept telling me there was no eastbound freight available. Finally made it back to St. Louis, then picked up a load going to Detroit. After I delivered that load I spent an entire day chasing the Detroit area looking for an MT trailer. Finally late in the evening I picked up a load in western OH going to the Columbus terminal. At which time I was called in to the fleet mgrs. office along with my dispatcher. The only thing my dispatcher had to say was,I dont think you are very happy with Swift,to which I answered, you are #### right. The fleet mgr.then asked me about the wasted day looking for an MT trl. in Detroit. I told him exactly how the day went.He asked my dispatcher if those were the facts,to which he said yes.He then told the dispatcher to pay me for a day at city rate, and My dispatcher said, but. The fleet mgr. said no buts about it,pay him. After that the waters really got muddy between me and my dispatcher,I hung on for another month and told them what they could do with that job.Parked my truck out back cleaned it out and never looked back.So I hope you have better luck with them.

Werner told me NFW today. So I called and checked my app at Swift. Told them I now had my CDL. They are sending off to get my MVR. Told me to call back on Monday.

You guys can call me Rug. We are on a first name basis now.

I faxed the permission slip for them to do a back ground check, sent a notarized letter explaining that I was off work for 3 months by a third party. Just in case they ask? Already there!

I am also recovering from a spider bite. It looks nasty. It is almost a month old. It takes about 6 weeks to recover from one. You bet your bippy I will have a doctor's release in my hand when I walk into my physical.

Where do you hold a license? For how long?

Florida keeps DUI for 75 years. I don't know about TN. I think the furthest they can check a regular MVR in FL is 7.

    How old is the DUI?

Blood pressure is probably by FMSCR regs. Start doing things to lower it. No smoking, excersize, better foods, less caffeine etc.

    Got meds for the BP?

You will need to have your BP under control at any company. If you know it is high, see your Dr and get it under control before you get there, or you will fail the DOT physical. Usually they will take it more than once to see if it goes down, but don't take any chances. Old DUI should be ok, but more than likely a case by case decision.
